Unit 1 : Ourselves
1.1 Different Parts Of The Body
All of us have the same body parts. We have a head, a body, two arms, two hands (with ten fingers) and two legs (with ten toes). Look at the picture below and read the different parts of the body aloud.  


Our faces look different but the parts are the same. We have hair on our head, two ears, two eyes (with eyelashes and eyebrows), a nose, a mouth with tongue and teeth, cheeks and chin. Read the different parts of the face aloud.




1.2 Five Senses

There are five important parts of body which are known as the sense organs: eyes, ears, tongue and skin.      
1) My Eyes    -  I see with my eyes.                                      
2) My Nose   -  I smell with my nose.
3) My Ears      -  I hear with my ears.                                                  
4) My Tongue  -  I taste with my tongue.                                              
5) My Skin      -   I feel with my skin.


1.3 Good Daily Habits
Good habit will help us grow healthy.


1. Keep yourself clean and neat.
    

2. Exercise regularly.


3. Eat the right kind of food.



4. Take a rest when you are tired.
5. Do your school work daily.
6. Talk to your parents, grandparents or teachers when you have problems.

1.4 Healthy Food 

1. Food for growing up : eggs, nuts, meat, bean curd, dried beans and milk.  

2. Food that gives energy : rice, bread, noodle, potatoes, corn and yam.

3. Food that protects us from diseases : vegetables and fruits.

4. Water : plain water, fruits juice, vegetables soup and milk.
